Standing Side Open Arm Raise
How to do it
Starting position
- Stand tall with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Let your arms hang by your sides and lower your shoulders.
Movement
- Keeping your arms straight, slowly open them to the sides and raise them to shoulder height.
- At the top, pause for at least 2 seconds.
- Lower down slowly at the same pace.
Breathing
Exhale as you raise, and inhale as you lower.
Cautions
- If your shoulders shrug up, your traps take over.
- If it gets easy, slow down further or hold water bottles to add resistance.
