Sled Backward Angled Calf Raise
How to do it
Starting position
- Place your back against the machine and position your shoulders under the pads.
- Place only the balls of your feet on the edge of the platform.
- Release the lock and straighten your knees.
Movement
- Raise your heels as high as possible.
- Squeeze your calves briefly at the top.
- Lower your heels deep below the platform to stretch your calves.
Breathing
Exhale as you lift and inhale as you lower.
Cautions
- If you bounce by bending and straightening your knees, your calves won't work.
- First check that the balls of your feet are in a position where they won't slip off the platform.

How GYMKC sets the weight for this exercise
For example, if you do 12 reps with 16 kg and log that you could have done about 2 more, GYMKC estimates your 1RM at about 25 kg.
With the sled or prowler, it moves up to the next weight you have. Within your 12–20 reps target, the sets you log decide whether to add reps first or add weight.
These numbers are an example of how the calculation works. Your actual prescription is recalculated every set from your own records. See how the calculation works
