Demo (loops)

How to do it

Starting position

  1. Stand barefoot on the floor with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Look straight ahead and keep your upper body upright.
  3. Lightly place your hand on a wall or post for balance.

Movement

  1. Press firmly into the floor through your toes and the balls of your feet.
  2. Extend your ankles upward and raise your heels as high as possible.
  3. Slowly lower your heels to the floor and return to the starting position.

Breathing

Exhale as you raise your heels, and inhale as you lower them.

Trainer tips

  • Placing the balls of your feet on the edge of the step is even better
  • Squeeze for 1 second at the top
  • Control it slowly as you lower

Cautions

  • You could sprain your ankle, so perform this on a non-slip surface.
  • If excessive strain is placed on your Achilles tendon, stop the exercise and rest.
  • Bouncing quickly just for speed
  • Letting the ankles roll outward
