Suspension Y-Lateral Raise
How to do it
Starting position
- Hold the straps with both hands and lean back to angle your body.
- Keep your body straight from head to toe.
- The steeper the lean, the harder it is. Start from a standing angle.
Movement
- Keeping your arms straight, open them into a Y shape to pull your body upright.
- When your hands reach diagonally above your head, pause briefly.
- Slowly lean back as you return.
Breathing
Exhale as you pull upright, inhale as you lean back.
Cautions
- If your lower back arches, you have lost tension in your torso. Keep it rigid like a plank.
- Pull your shoulder blades down as you spread wide so your shoulders do not shrug up.
