How to do it
Starting position
- Kneel down, place the backs of your hands on the floor, and check your wrists first.
- Point your fingers toward each other.
- If there is no pain, get into a kneeling push-up position.
Movement
- Bend your elbows to slowly lower your body.
- Pause at a shallow depth.
- Press up to return to the starting position.
Breathing
Inhale as you lower, exhale as you press.
Cautions
- Start shallow on your knees and increase depth over several weeks.
- If your wrists are weak, substitute with knuckle push-ups.
If you feel pain during the exercise, stop. If it continues, talk to a professional.
