Pull-Up: Are you only going halfway up and down?

Start from a hang with your arms fully straight and pull up until your chin clears the bar. Do not go only halfway up and down.

How to fix it

  1. Hold the bar with your palms facing forward.
  2. Pull your body up until your chin clears the bar.
  3. Fully straighten your arms as you lower yourself.
Caution Do not swing your body to create momentum as you pull up.

The app sets the reps for your next set

(For exercises you added to your routine yourself) For example, if you are a beginner and completed all 3 sets of 9 reps using your bodyweight as planned in your last workout, the app increases your reps to 10. When you log your sets, GYMKC reads your last set and recalculates the weight and reps for your next set.

How wide should your grip be?

Sources differ slightly. Some suggest a grip slightly wider than shoulder width. One study used a shoulder-width grip. Either way, hold the bar with your palms facing forward.
