Demo (loops)

How to do it

Starting position

  1. Lie comfortably on your back on the floor
  2. Place your arms on the floor by your sides
  3. Bend your knees and lift your legs into the air
  4. Keep your thighs perpendicular to the floor

Movement

  1. Engage your abs and contract your lower abs
  2. Slowly pull your pelvis toward your chest
  3. Do not let your lower back arch when lowering your legs

Breathing

Exhale as you lift your hips and inhale as you return to the starting position

Trainer tips

  • Curl your knees up toward your chest
  • Lift your pelvis off the floor
  • Don't arch your lower back as you lower

Cautions

  • If your lower back comes too far off the floor, it can cause pain, so maintain tension in your abs
  • If you use momentum, it strains your lower back, so move slowly
  • Swinging using only leg momentum
  • Moving only the legs without lifting the pelvis

If you feel pain during the exercise, stop. If it continues, talk to a professional.
