Heel-to-Toe Walk
How to do it
Starting position
- Stand straight on a flat floor and look forward
- Extend your arms out to the sides to balance yourself
- Place one foot directly in front of the other
Movement
- Step so the toes of your back foot touch the heel of your front foot
- Pause to find your balance so your body does not sway
- Step the opposite foot forward again and repeat the same movement
Breathing
Breathe naturally and evenly while performing the movement
Trainer tips
- Place your front heel against your back toes and walk in a single line
- If you walk along the wall, you can brace yourself with your hand
Cautions
- Rolling your ankle can cause ligament injury, so move slowly
- You may lose your balance and fall, so perform this in an area clear of obstacles
- Walking quickly instead of pausing to check each step
If you feel pain during the exercise, stop. If it continues, talk to a professional.
